Source/Reference: The Navhind Times, “ Bicholim MLA seeks more funds for low-income VPs”
Claiming that most of the village panchayats in Bicholim are unable to undertake developmental works due to paucity of funds, the Bicholim MLA, Mr Naresh Sawal said that the government should allocate more funds to such village panchayats.
Addressing villagers at a meeting at Advalpal, Mr Sawal said that he was aware of the problems faced by the low-income panchayats and that he would make special efforts to ensure that additional funds are allocated to such panchayats by taking up the issue with the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Parrikar and the concerned authorities.Mr Sawal had visited various panchayats in Bicholim constituency recently. During his visit to Advalpal panchayat, the villagers apprised him about their grievances. Many issues pertaining to the village development were also discussed at the meeting.
Mr Sawal listened to the grievances and demands of the villagers and assured them that he would make special efforts to sort out their problems.
Sarpanch, Ms Lakshada Dessai welcomed the guests, deputy sarpanch, Mr Gajanan Palkar, panch, Mr Vishvanath Naik, Mr Deelip Gaonkar, Ms Deepali Gaonkar and panchayat secretary, Ms Resha Govenkar were present on the dais.
