To mark the completion of the 10-day deadline given to the government to revoke the construction license of Raheja, the Carmona Village Social Welfare Forum (CVSWF) and locals will meet Deputy Chief Minister Francis D’Souza at the secretariat on Friday.
Forum president Socorro Miranda said that they had taken an appointment at 3.30 pm and that a large number of agitating villagers will travel to Porvorim for the meeting. It maybe recalled that 10 days ago, CVSWF had demanded that D’Souza, who is also the Town and Country Planning minister , act on the recommendations sent by his own TCP department to hold the project based on the findings in its inspection report.
The forum had announced the deadline on receiving a copy from the Public Works Department (PWD) stating that it had no plans to widen the access road of the Raheja property. CVSWF had demanded that the TCP revoke Raheja’s technical clearance as the road access did not comply with the norms.
The forum also recalled that the TCP had revoked the technical clearance of a Curtorim hotel project on the same grounds.
