Villagers of Carmona on Monday issued a ten-day ultimatum to the government to reject the Raheja project proposed in their village or else they would intensify their agitation.
Addressing the media, Succoro Miranda and many others said that the government should act on the TCP report and its recommendations.
It may be recalled that on September 30, 2015 the TCP and village panchayat of Carmona had held a joint inspection at the site and that the report of the said inspection with its recommendations was forwarded to the state government for action. The villagers of Carmona are opposing the project for the past several years.
“Carmona villagers are losing their patience over the delay of the government to act on the recommendations of the TCP department on the Raheja construction issue. It is surprising that all the files related to Raheja have been shifted.
This only shows that TCP is not relenting to part with the crucial information related to Raheja,’’ stated Miranda. We would hold a meeting with the deputy chief minister who is also the TCP minister, local MLA, Principal secretary and the director of panchayat” said another villager.
