Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar has stated that his government will give priority to proposals for improving coastal village connectivity.
His assurance will come as relief for the villagers of Velsao, Issorcim (Hollant) and Bogmalo and the fishing community of Mormugao, who is facing hardships due to lack of road access from Velsao to Bogmalo via Hollant beach.
Parsekar was speaking to reporters after inaugurating the new Dando-Mollo Bridge on Saturday – the birth anniversary of late Matanhy Saldanha. The bridge, constructed by GSIDC at a cost of Rs 3.5 crore, was named the ‘Matanhy Saldanha Bridge’.”This bridge will provide relief to about 50 houses that were facing problems due to non availability of road access.
If the local MLA Alina Saldanha has any more proposals for connecting this road further as part of coastal connectivity, then I will surely give priority to the project,” said Parsekar.
