The Carnival float parade was held at Curchorem on Monday. The float parade was organised by Centro Social Anjo Custodio, Curchorem in association with GTDC.

Eight traditional floats, 8 floats of private institutions, 8 floats of social institutions, 18 junk cars and 17 clowns participated in the parade.

The parade was led by King Momo and was flagged off by Sanguem MLA Subhash Phaldessai and Deputy Chief Minister Francis D’souza. Curchorem MLA Nilesh Cabral, Sanvordem MLA Ganesh Gaonkar, CCMC chairperson Vishwas Sawant Dessai and others were present on the occasion.

Social activist Raju Naik was the King Momo while Beena Naik was the Queen who gave the massage “Eat, drink and enjoy life”

The floats started from the Curchorem Railway station and culminated into a public function at KTC bus stand.

The floats were based on Goa’s agriculture and on problems depicting the state of Goa.

The float on the coconut tree “Madacho Upeg” , “Usachem Gode”(jaggery from sugarcane), Swach Bharat Nital Goen’ float of Sarvodaya High School Curchorem and a float presented by the special children of Chetna Charitable trust, Curchorem, was much appreciated by people.
