The alleged illegal structures belong to Riva Resort at Mandrem, Papa Jolly hotel, Morjim and Babano and Coutinho resorts, Morjim.
The GCZMA members have heard the parties, perused the documents and decided that the authority should issue directions for demolition of the structures as they are a blatant violation of provisions of CRZ notification 2011.
The GCZMA has directed the violators to demolish the constructions within a month (20 days in one case, and 30 in the other two), failing which the GCZMA will issue directions to the appropriate authority to demolish the same without any further notice and recover the costs towards the demolition from the alleged violators.
In the first case, GCZMA has also directed chief electrical engineer and principal chief engineer PWD to disconnect electricity and water supply connection to the said hotel and submit the compliance report to GCZMA within five days of the receipt of this order.
