Panchayat minister Laxmikant Parsekar concluded what has come to be known as his ‘panchayat yatra’ by holding Sanguem block level meeting of panchayat bodies at Sanguem recently in the presence of local MLA Subhash Fal Dessai.
Parsekar’s tour to all panchayats was aimed at interacting with panchayat members and functionaries and get first hand information of the various difficulties and grievances faced by the elected representatives.
Speaking on the occasion, Parsekar called upon panchayat bodies to take benefit of the infrastructure development fund allocation of Rs. 1 cr to each panchayat to create durable assets and urged them to undertake projects that will generate revenue to the panchayat and serve the community at large.
Parsekar assured that the government was working at simplifying procedures for regularization of illegal houses for individual dwelling units. Phaldessai, speaking on the occasion, advocated the e-district concept, making use of IT connectivity to serve the far flung rural areas in providing the resident certificates in the initial stages. Sarpanchas of Bhatti, Uguem, Netravalli, Rivona, Sanvordem, Vaddem-Curdi and Kalay placed forth their grievances and demands and also submitted their representations to Parsekar.
