Reacting to the Carmona gram sabha decision opposing their project, Raheja Universal officials said the company has been crucified without giving them the opportunity to present their case before the people.
Sanjay K, Associate Vice-President, Rahejas told the media after the gram sabha decision that the company could have directly approached the authorities for the clearances, but deemed proper to first address the concerns of the villagers about the project.
“We were not allowed to present our view. We had come for the meeting to address the genuine concerns of the villagers”, he said, while making an appeal to the villagers to listen to what the Rahejas have to offer and then take a decision.
“We understand the concerns of the villagers on various aspects of the project. A section of the people was creating an issue. We are for the citizens and for the community. We will take legal counsel and initiate steps. A few vested interests should not disturb the overall interests of the community”, Sanjay said.
