“I have tried my best to complete the projects pertaining to the basic infrastructure in the village by repeatedly visiting various government offices for quicker sanctioning of the same. The Sansad scheme has given priority for development of the village through collective efforts of panchayat members and villagers,” said Vaz, while informing about community toilets built under the scheme and which are scheduled for inauguration on Sunday at Ilha de Rachol.
He said that work related to construction of toilets, drains and roads was taken up on a priority basis.
On pending projects that are estimated to cost around Rs 3 crore, he said that “most of these projects are pending at the tender process stage. I am worried that now the model code of conduct will come into effect in view of panchayat elections and the projects could get delayed.”
As far as completed projects are concerned, the village has seen development works carried out by the tribal department.
